Meet Laurie

Laurie Trueblood is the editor and founder of Adventures to Authenticity.

She is a writer that enjoys topics of fantasy, science, psychology, and the “nerdy girl” lifestyle. As a life coach for leveling up, her mission is to help others unlock their potential and become the best versions of themselves.

Previously, she spent over ten years working on writing and business administration in various fields, including education, science, and public corporations.

A real-life hero, Laurie received the “Award for Bravery” from the US Forest Service in 1999.

You can regularly find her with a book, coffee growing cold nearby, lost in stories of heroes and happy endings; or online in an RPG slashing her way across a world of adventure and fantasy.

“If I can’t live in my imagination alone then I want to make real-life just as exciting.”

For a long time, I felt lost. Watching others live their dreams, while I felt that real life was boring next to the exciting realms of games and fantasy that I enjoyed so much.  Reality was just this thing that dragged on between gaming sessions.

All the while I was becoming successful at work and climbing the corporate ladder, I found that it lacked a deeper meaning. With each step up, I grew farther and farther away from who I wanted to be.

I desperately wanted a quest giver to appear, to give me a purpose, and start me down the path of true adventure.   But this game of life is set on hard mode, and none seemed to appear.

While I was trying to figure out my purpose, I sought comfort in my lifelong loves. Whether it was re-reading classic adventuring stories, enjoying a family game of D&D, attending LARP events, or losing myself in the digital worlds of role-playing video games, the worlds of adventure have always had a deeper appeal.

Yet, between the digital worlds and dice rolls, I discovered more than just tales of adventure, I found meaning and inspiration.  Reading more, I discovered that scientists are verifying what many of us already knew.  Those worlds of fantasy can provide insights into who we really are and what we want to be.

I founded Adventures to Authenticity to share what I have learned and to help others.

As we find a purpose, our game map changes; Those fog-covered zones clear and new quests open up to us, the difficulties we must then overcome become just another battle to win so that we can gain the experience points needed to reach those next levels and be closer to our goals.

I am excited to continue to grow Adventures to Authenticity and find new ways to reach and help others on their own journeys.

We all have the fantasy hero within us.  I am working on finding mine.  How can I help you become yours?

Laurie
